Academic Advisors are full-time staff and partner with your orientation leader to provide class recommendations for your first semester. Following Orientation, new students are connected with their academic advisor for continued support with developing an academic plan, course selection, transferring credits, and resource navigation.

Orientation appointments are designed to guide new students in navigating UCCS resources and class registration processes. These 1-hour appointments are offered on-campus or virtually, and are facilitated by orientation leaders. 

New Student Welcome Bash is your opportunity to connect with the UCCS community. The event features a variety of resource fairs providing an inside look at campus services, academics, and student involvement opportunities. Participate in a campus and residence hall tour, visit the bookstore, meet faculty, and engage with campus resources. 

Family members, guests, & supporters are welcome at all orientation events. Guests can be of wonderful support and we encourage them to allow students space at orientation to grow, explore, and develop skills of independence. At orientation, guests can serve as great note-takers and a sounding board as students begin scheduling their classes.
